My missus, after pledging her allegiance to watching test cricket under no protest whatsoever has offered to learn to play golf.

1 driving range session later she's after a set of clubs...I thought these woul dbe a good start

I'm sure there are many many other options out there - anyone swear by anything else? I kow these thigs are personal but happy to take any advice on board.

They'll be fine. Expensive for what'll probably be a fad though.

Try gumtree or ebay for something in as-new condition at 20% of the price.

What you need is cavity-backed irons with oversized heads.

Don't worry about having a driver, it's much too difficult to use for a learner and will discourage her more than anything.

Most important than anything though, is that they fit for length, so the sole is sitting correctly at address. Without that, you're relying on counter-balancing other errors to get a straight shot.
