Watches for running - Heart rate
Discussion
Hi guys,
I'm running the London Marathon in a few weeks time, and thought it might be wise to buy some sort of watch to time myself (mile splits) and give my heartrate at the same time.
Is it possible to do this without spending £80 or more? I want something relatively simple, with a chest strap, and no need for GPS.
Does anyone have any reliable recommendations?
Cheers!

i've used a garmin foreunner 305 for years, its pretty much perfect for the casual runner, it wil lcover heart rate, lap pace, current pace and distance travelled and you can sort out teh display to suit. the software it comes with is a bit old now but its really ery useful and makes for interesting reading. i cant recommend them high enough. make sure you do a few runs with whatever you get first to get used to it, some a quite chunky and take a bit of getting used to. they are ab it over budget but well worth it....

this.you won't get a GPS watch AND heart rate monitor for <£80. i've had a garmin forerunner 205 (same as 305 but without the HRM) for a good 5-6 years now; the buttons on the side had almost had it so i was going to buy another...but decided to phone garmin; for £47 i sent mine to them and they sent me a fully refurbished unit which was "as new"!! top customer care
trust me, it's over your budget, but it's a bargain. i won't be without a GPS watch now.
