Is anyone on here signed up to be an Olympic Games Maker?

I am signed up to work on the Road cycling and Time trials - hoping for more shifts.

I would be interested to hear what others think of the process, I don't know anyone else who is a volunteer!

What are you working on and what training are you doing?

I couldnt take the time off work for the training sessions and I couldnt afford to fund my own accomodation whilst i was there during the games either. shame really, millions would have loved to be involved but it was really only a viable option for those in the South East. give us a wave and put a ph smily on your shirt!

I'm pretty lucky having family in London and decent boss, all of the training so far has been at the weekends.

Having seen the cost of accommodation during the olympics, I'm not sure how others are getting on - I have met people from Newcastle and Leeds during the process who all intend to stay in hotels. I wouldn't be surprised if there are lots of folk pulling out close to the time!

Started a topic on this myself a while ago and had very few replies so there are not many of us. I am in the last mile operations team at Greenwich Park. Still waiting to hear about training. Quite a drawn out process. Have a neighbour in the transport team driving BMWs around.

It is very drawn out isn't it? I got the impression that the Wembley Orientation Training was a thinly veiled attempt to keep people interested.

Have you been given you working shifts yet? I have only got a few days on the Cycling at the moment.

No shifts yet. Had a questionnaire about accessibility.
Just did a Google search on my position and discovered that They are looking for paid staff to do the same thing. Odd.
