Which canoe for wife and I to paddle around in
Discussion
In the absence of identifying the ideal forum section Im going for this one.
Im wanting a canoe for MrsA and I to spend a bit of time together on some local inland waterways, canals, rivers and do a bit of exploring.
Im weighing up the pros and cons of a traditional open canadian type to a covered sit in solid type to inflatable types.
The traditional open canadians look a bit more sociable (occupants can move about a bit more) but perhaps a bit cumbersome.
HAs anyone any experience/advice

Sevylor Hudson/sirroco/colarado would be the boats to look at. If it is something you want to do to get out and enjoy some fresh air this boat will be all you need. It folds up into a bag and will fit into the boot of pretty much any car. Decathlon did have them on offer from 249.99, add on around £100 for Buoyancy aids and paddles and you will pretty much be there. If you start to look at rigid boats you can quite easily double or tripple that price. PM me if you want any more info.

How about a sit-on kayak? We have a two man job that we got after messing about with some on holiday in France a couple of years ago. Very stable, pretty unsinkable, easy to paddle and just the job for bimbling about either up and down the canal or off the beach.
Have a look here, there's plenty of info on what's what: http://www.aswatersports.co.uk/index.html
