Orion skis...any good?
Discussion
Getting tanked off with hiring skis so I was thinking of buying my own (already got boots). I'm an intermediate, very much piste focussed skier...I've tended to hoon round in a gung-ho stylee in the past chasing GPS records but I'm actually now trying to slow down and focus a lot more on technique and really work on carving/short turns.
Orion seem to offer an awful lot for the money so I am tempted, I've heard reasonable things about them, and they are actually now "badge engineered" Atomics coming out the same Bulgarian factory. If I could get a few years out of them, (they are only about twice the cost of hiring for a week) and then upgrade to something better, or more off-piste focussed if my tastes change, I'd be happy. I could then keep them for snowdome/Scotland/"oh look it's snowed let's find a hill" kinda stuff.
Or are they just not up to it?
Cheers!
