great match, although I feel the crowd sometimes spoil it by booing just as someone is about to take a shot for a double. Happened last night in the Paul Nicholson match too. Bit unsporting imho

great stuff to watch when it's ding-dong stuff like that. part seems to have been focussing on eating in his tournament preparation!

Not many of them are all that shy when it comes to use of pie & lager as tournament prep.biggrin
I had the misfortune of watching Sky Sports News this morning while having breakfast & was treated to the lovely sight of Colin Lloyd going topless - Cheers eek Still, made me feel a bit better about Christmas excess.

I haven't seen any yet but usually try and watch a bit - a bit of brain at the door fun usually. The barracking is uncalled for though.

Going to the darts final at Purfleet a few years ago remains one of the best nights out I have ever had, and by any standard, was a great sporting spectacle.

Even more bizarre is how many darts are ending up on the floor early on!

Thought the world champs was fantastic! Final a bit of an anti-climax though i never fancied Lewis to lose it after the Semi.

Wade v Part match was also fantastic! biggrin

Premier League line up now confirmed as well!! Got tickets to the Cardiff leg, chuffed Hamilton and Painter have made it in... can't wait!

Never mind the poncy PDC, the real tournament started today. The BDO.

Better crowds, better characters, better atmosphere.
Standard is nowhere near the PDC but some things are guaranteed (some confirmed today).

1. An outsider will make the final (plumber/electrician/pub player).
2. No one can hit the doubles. Confirmed today when it took 54 (FIFTY FOUR) darts to finish a leg. Brilliant stuff.
3. Ted Hankey will get some grief (hopefully - the villain in this event)
4. Some players will be so nervous its car crash TV.

This is darts entertainment at its best. "TWWWWENTY FOUR" laugh

Really like a couple of the BDO 'characters', but the darts are woeful at the moment, especially the finishing!!

Give me the poncy PDC anytime, 'The Power' could win the BDO tournament with his left hand...laugh

Your right but bloody hell they are poor compared to the PDC.

The quality of BDO is absolute garbage. Some of these guys are just glorified pub players. It takes them 14 or 15 darts just to get a shot at a double. The first round losers of the PDC this year have so far averaged higher than the first round winners of the BDO.

The production of the whole thing is even worse - it's like we're watching a repeat from a darting event of 15 years ago.

Have been to both The Lakeside and Ally Pally - quite different experiences:

BDO - a real throwback feel to it, great characters and crowds much more respectful of the match in play, no booing either player when at the oche. Plenty of beer consumed beer

PDC - carnage, but in a (mostly) good way. Higher standard of darts overall but crowd 'participation' not always in the right spirit. Not aided by the showing of the TV coverage on large screens at the venue as every idiot with a skin full drink wants their moment in front of the camera and at times the crowd are completely dis-interested in the match in play.

Having said all that, the PDC is the one I would go see again, electric atmosphere, great craic and top tungsten action on display.

Decent match between Adams & O'Shea on at the moment, O'Shea just took out 170 bow
