I was wondering if anyone on here knows much about snooker?
Basically at the family home, we have a full size snooker table, that looks to be of a high quality. It has been there since my family moved in (about 17 years ago) and god knows how long before that.
I don't have a clue what it would be worth, but id imagine a fair amount. Id like to sell it, and turn the outbuilding that it is in into a room with a bar and a pool table.
If anyone thinks they would be able to point me in the right direction of value then i will post some photos up and get some info on it.
Thanks

We looked at buying a house with a snooker table a few years back, when we looked into value of the table the outcome was they are virtually worthless. A case of supply and demand, mainly the complete lack of any demand.
It will also cost the best part of a grand for someone to dismantle, move, rebuild and recover.

We looked into selling one last year and got told the same as BJG1 and 4mo posted, too many around due to snooker clubs and also the cost of having it professionally dismantled and re-clothed when sold/moved.
If you're after a pool table you might get a better deal trying part ex it with a company that deals in both snooker and pool tables rather than ebay?

I am in the sports/snooker trade.
A new full size snooker table (12ft Slate bed) can cost anything from £6000 to £25,000...so many variables..type of cloth, turned legs etc.
Secondhand? They are worth....not a lot, in fact some people are happy to give them away, if the person comes and takes it apart and removes it.
The pieces of individual slate usually take 3-4 men to lift...always take a truck.
If it is in decent condition, you may get £2k for it, but it's doubtful.
Have a look on Ebay, etc to get an idea of values.........

Cheers for the replies... WackyRacer, have you heard of this brand? I have looked on eBay and again seems to jump from a few thousand to just about nothing!
Can't say I have ever heard of that brand, many tables were made nearly a hundred years ago, and the makers long gone out of business. Yours does sound like a nice one though, many were works of art.Good luck with it, why not contact a few local snooker clubs or working mens clubs?, they are always looking to upgrade, certainly worth a few phone calls.
If you're looking for a pool table I can recommend these guys;

They might even offer some sort of part ex for the old snooker table.
