Ok, not actually a sport - but a good way to keep fit.

Don't ask how - but i got roped into going to one of these places last Thursday evening. Wasn't looking forward to it - but it was excellent!

£5 to get in, including decent skate hire, then 2 hrs or so of flying around - with no falls i might add - like i was 14 again!

They had some 'bangin tunes' on as well and some disco lights going - like being in a nightclub, without the alcohol and sticky floors - something that i don't get to do much these days with having young children!

If i was 15 again, would be there every Friday and Saturday! An excellent alternative to cinema/bowling/laserquest - i.e. places where you go to when you're 15 and want to go out with your mates, but look about 12.

Totally agree, there needs to be more rinks and certainly more adults nights!

I've just got back into skating after a good 15 years. I'm learning how to play roller derby, it's amazing fun if a little violent! I've managed to get Lord S out on 8 wheels too!

Do you have your own skates? I'm now rocking a pair of Sure Grip Rebel Invaders but back in the day I loved my Bauer Turbo 33's cloud9

If you cannot find a roller rink, most ice rinks do disco nights on a Friday too smile
