Two more bizarre batting collapses in the latest test to add to the crazy first test scores and result

Bad pitches? Bad umpires? Something else?

It's similar to what we used to call the "Heckmondwike collapse", but we were a club second XI

What the hell's going on out there?

Odd indeed - each team battling to see which will choke the least. At work at the moment so can't watch it, but I hear Steyn bowled like a demon whilst the Saffers collapsed through poor stroke play? If there's any player from around the world I wish played for England it's Steyn.

Is the Wanderers still empty? I was there for the test a few years back when we got hammered, couldn't get over how cheap it is compared to English tests - £12 to get in (no need to book in advance, just turn up) and £1 a pint!

The SA collapse was largely due to some terrible, impatient, over aggressive batting. ABdV, Prince and Kallis played some schoolboy shots to get out. But today Steyn was in great form and bowled really well.

On another note, the fall and fall of Ponting continues. Has 2 hundreds in the last 30 odd test matches averaging in the mid 30s.

Wonder if he can get his form of old back.

Do you reckon Ponting will get his form back, or will he be eventually dropped?

Great finish with the Aussies chasing 310 and reaching it 8 wickets down. Quite a debut for 18 year old Pat Cummins.
