Hi,

There seems to be a few different types since I last bought a pair of these. Don't really have time to get over to a store so was probably going to buy them online. However, I've seen there are a few different types now and I can't find any info to differentiate between them!

There seems to be...

Hedgehog III
Hedgehog GTR XCR III
Hedgehog GTX XCR

Does anyone know the difference?! They all seem to be £85 or £95 so not much difference in price.

Also, anything else anyone would recommend? I wear them all day, everyday so have to be hard wearing, must be waterproof (I'm out on boats and launching recovering quite a lot) and ideally breathable for cycling. Must be pretty hard wearing and suitable for mud as well as I use them for walking too.

Thanks,

Dan

the details must be on the NF website?

i have never seen the point of waterproof approach shoes personally, water just gets in over the top in long grass or by the coast. if you are launching boats etc, you only need one wave over the top and you have wet feet. breathable comes with the goretex but only works if you are wearing quality socks and not cotton ones.

i bought a par of berghaus approach shoes, cant remember the name but they are black and orange, they are not waterproof but they are light and dry quickly.

Understand what you mean. I wear boots when I’m getting properly wet, but for light spray and particularly, when I’m cleaning boats or running up engines in the yard, waterproof shoes are essential and means I don’t have to keep changing out of my boots all the time. Plus the brown hedgehogs still look quite smart for work.

I've got the hedgehog 'midi' goretex (see below as not exactly sure which version they are) and they're great, best summer boot I've owned, I got them a few years back and they're still going strong despite 00s of miles and countless dunkings in bogs, rivers and mud up snowdonia. I've toy'd with the idea of replacing them with somthing from solomon, merrell or aisolo but their offerings just dont do it for me. The thing I love about them is the weight, it's like wearing some superlite running shoes.
