Im sorry im confused. Wales have dropped to 8th in the rankings despite being as high as 4th during the WC and then finishing 4th.
England remain unchanged?
Ireland and Argentina climb above Wales after wales lost to Aus.
Sorry didnt Wales beat Ireland and Argentina beat no one of any renoun (sorry Scots)

They are as bad as FIFA. Cant understand how you can drop after losing a semi by a point and finishing 4th by 3. Is Rolland doing the scoring?

I was confusd too. But think about it.

Wales played 7 games and lost 3.
Ireland played 5 and lost 1.

They both won the same amount of games, but Wales lost an additional 2. And not forgetting World Cup games count for double ranking points, it further extends this gap.

From a sentimental view point I agree it looks shocking Wales have gone down the rankings, but being a heartless accountant I can't argue with the numbers (assuming the IRB haven't cocked up their calcs, which is not entirely out of the question).

I think this is further evidence of IRB racism against Wales, first we have an Irish-French ref and now this hehe

I understand the winning and losing element but to lose enough ranking points to make a difference for losing by a point seems a bit rediculous. How can you finish 4th and drop to 8th? 4 surely means 4th? Should extra points be given for a ranking in a tournament as a team that finishes 2nd or 4 are going to lose an extra game but are going to have beaten teams to get that far? I mean Argentina are the prime example here (and england to an extent). Who did either team beat in the WC of any significance?
