Any suggestions for good boards and bindings? It's my first board and I want to make sure I get a good one, and not just anything for the sake of having one.

Any sites worth checking out?

I don't board but ski. Ellis Brigham are decent as they'll let you try at the indoor slope for free, TBH an indoor slope isn't a good demo location, I'd be tempted to try some when you're on holiday so you can get a proper feel for it.

Snow and Rock charge you £15 to demo and then give you it back in the form of store credit. When you're abroad they'll usually refund the rental cost if you buy.

Try some skis they're best. thumbup

You can get some second hand bargain on eBay but it's usually at this time of year prices start to get daft.

Do yourself a massive favour and go and try them. Especially the bindings. They all feel different.

Boards should be ok online...I bought mine from dogfunk in the US.

As already said, try them, they do all feel different...then buy them cheaper online obviously.

I'm off Heli-boarding in January so going to ditch my Flow bindings before I go. I love the convenience of being able to step in to them, but when in deep powder, they aren't so easy to get out of if you go over backwards.

any of the big shops are great for trying things out i.e snow and rock and TSA Snow and rock at hemmel have quite a few demo boards you can take out on the indoor slope as well.

What kind of riding do you do/what size board are you after?

We've just teamed up with a snowboarding firm and now have a good sized display inside our showroom. The website is www.snowboards4u.co.uk or find us on Facebook. The shop is inside the BHG Marine showroom in Lymington, Hampshire.

I don't work for Snowboards 4u, I work for BHG Marine, Phil is the person to speak to here. He knows them all inside out!!
