Aviva Premiership Thread - Rugby Union
Discussion
Couldn't find a thread for the 2011/12 Rugby season (we're already a week in) so thought I would start one.
I'm a Newcastle Falcons season ticket holder this year and it looks like we're really going to struggle, already 7-0 after 2 minutes at Exeter as well. A few shock results as well last week! Well done to Worcester!
As much as it pains me to say it I think Newcastle will be going down this year and more than likely Leeds coming back up...

As an Exeter supporter I can't say I'm complaining, althought there's a long way to go today and we had a cracking result against Leicester last weekend too.
We've got to make the most of getting some points in while the big boys still have players in New Zealand, but hopefully we'll build on last year.

I agree, we play Leicester next week, fingers crossed for a few points there - oh, you're up 10-0 now! Watching the Falcons last week the team seemed really disjointed and not very slick We've got to make the most of getting some points in while the big boys still have players in New Zealand, but hopefully we'll build on last year.

I think you maybe right I can't see how Newcastle can stay up this year. Didn't you get the lowest attendance record last week as well?
Yeah I think so, was there at a cold Kingston Park, bit sad really, I remember the days when it was packed week in week out, but thats when we had Wilkinson, Flood, May, Tait, Noon etc. Ended up throwing it away at Exeter today when by the sounds of it we started to play really well, oh dear.
At least I can drown my sorrows at KP with their 2 pint cups
Top of the Premiership! Watching Exeter when I was a kid in the lower leagues against the local sides On a mud sodden pitch I never thought I'd see the day!
It'll be interesting now to see how Exeter get on after a good start, it would be cracking to sneak into the heineken cup this year.

Good to hear, your lot looked in good shape 2 weeks ago - just found out loads of the Falcons boys live near me, might have to find them and blag some free tickets or something!
From experience, Bath's downfall will be inconsistency. If they can eliminate that and play to their potential in most matches then they should make the playoffs. At least so far it looks like they aren't doing what they did the last 2 seasons - nothing before the New Year and then a big charge up the table.prand said:
London Irish fan here. Not looking good at the mo, two losses out of two so far. Even with the seven players returning from the world cup it's shaping up to be a transitional season after a large amount of key players left or retired in May. Staying up will be good enough for me!
Cheer up, it could be worse, you could be a Tigers fan. Tigers have 11 at the RWC and three long term injuries to senior squad members. Thats pretty much the whole first team out, but it's early days.Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
