The silly warm ups are over and the season proper starts Thursday. So who's going to turn it on this year?

As a long time Pats fan I'm confident (although surprised they cut Brandon Meriweather yesterday) and expect the boys from the Gillette to be solidly in the playoffs. Could be a tough year for my new hometown Colts. I expect to see Detroit make progress and Houston to win their division for the first time.

Overall I can't wait! bounce

I am looking forward to it now. Should be good. Hoping for a nice Rams playoff run with their young side developing nicely......but as we all know you win nothing with kids :-)

Looks like Peyton Manning is out indefinitely. Colts will struggle without him.

Am hoping for the Ravens to get to the SB this year, but have a feeling it isn't going to happen unless Flacco stops throwing interceptions and completes on 3rd a bit more. Tickets on sale for the Wembley game on thurs too, anyone going?

Can't wait for the Steelers game on the 11th, kick off @ 1pm ET, just have to find somewhere online to watch it.

Another pats fan here but I'm not so confident, and won't be till I see a real pass rush (over to you Albert!) If San Diego had retained Ron Rivera then I'd happily nail my colours to a Chargers-NFC North final now but as ever we'll see (can't wait!)

Yep, a city mourns. Most people here in Indy have resigned themselves to him missing the season. Although I am not a Colts fan I hope that they have a decent season, this city loves it's football and it dominates just about everything during the season.

On a more upbeat note, the season kicks off in 2 1/2 hours. party

Maybe this year will be the seahawks year, probably won't be but either way go seahawks.

What a game to kick off with! All the pundits have been saying that the short off season will mean that defense will dominate the early season. Not much sign of that last night!

Getting it on Fox here in Dubai, looking forward to this season but have been out of touch for so long that I have no idea who's on top and who isn't.

I was at the Texans Vs Colts yesterday. Was really good, never watched a game before, but I properly enjoyed it, the game, the occasion. It was brilliant

Colts were ste. Never turned up until the final quarter.

Needless to say I'm a convert.

It's a unique game, I love it. Peyton would have made some difference for the Colts if not for nis neck trouble, but I think the Texans still would have won handily. Rebuild time for the Colts.

So I was lead to beleive! I'm a total rookie to the game, So still unsure of my facts, but isn't he getting on a bit?

Is the right forum to ask questions? What are the yellow disks the ref throws? What does 4th and 10 mean? I Know the 4th means 4th tackle, but 10? (For example)

I've seen an episode or 2 of 'Hardknocks' which is a pretty good insight into the selection process.

'Lets eat a goddam snack!' No idea who said it, but I liked him.
