6-13 at the half hour mark. Looked a nasty injury for Wallace, England just seem to want contact rather than looking for quick ball and isn't coming to much-all to predictable.

ETA 9-13 HT

England still having real problems spotting space, that move with Croft and Lawes was an utter balls-up. No idea which way this one will go though.

WTF was that dab through from Tindall all about?! England pretty static still in attack but just doesn't seem like much is going right for Ireland in the 2nd half. England replacement have been effective, commented that England have as strong a bench as they've had for a while and would agree.

yes

With the acception of Haskell the ball running has continually failed to get over the gain line and at the cost of slowing things down or not using space that was screaming to be used.

Right result for England but not over awed by the performance. I'm of the same opinion as I was at the at the end of the 6 nations, hard to see England winning the WC but thought they were starting to show a bit of attacking flare after the Autum and some of the 6 nations. After today I see them being able to grind results against allot of team but not against the best. Foden, Ashton et el were quiet and didn't show much. Seemed to be all about forward muscle today.

To be fair, that has seemed to have been Johnsons' philosophy for a while now. The idea that if you win the forward game its hard to lose the match summaries his England team.

we will be shown up by southern hemisphere quality, pace, and hands.

I think it is difficult to draw too many decisions from this one match, at least for England. The match-plan seemed designed to beat Ireland rather than to give a practice for the WC.

For Ireland it's not too good. Their confidence can't be high with this series of defeats. O'Driscoll not playing of course and his absence would hurt any team.

Not a fascinating match to watch though.
