Not quite in the Mo Johnston to Rangers league though, is it?

If he was Sheffield born & bred, had played a barrel load of games for Wednesday & was the proud owner of a "fk the Blades" tattoo, you'd probably have a point smile.

He played for wednesday for around six years, including league cup victory over man u in 91, getting to both cup finals in 93 , finishing 3rd in the premiership and playing in europe for us. In the late nineties he managed us for a couple seasons and was in charge at the time of the infamous di canio push on the ref.

He was famously interviewed around that time and said he hated sheffield united and despised their fans.

But no...he doesn't have tattoo

if the shoe was on the other foot i'd be mighty unhappy

I take it the statue of Derek Dooley outside Bramall Lane means nothing to you then...

Indeed, he was of an era when people were respected on talent, achievements and how they act rather than the current tribalism.

To be honest, anyone who can get them playing with some degree of effort and, God forbid, maybe some skill should be welcomed. I guess we'll see whether DW's any good. But let's face it, we have plenty of time to reflect now to find a formula that the board will stomach (if such a thing can be found!).

There have been some major howlers made by the board IMO. Gary Speed wasn't a good call. Robbo was worse. Losing Warnock was the death knell though.

To be honest i'd be happy for both teams to be back in the championship at least (with us as champions obviouslyyes). A city of this size with both teams in the third teir is just plain wrong

Indeed.

Tis all about the money though.

It's hard to think they won't be straight back, but then look at Wednesday...
