Can someone explain exactly how UEFA are going to stop Roman pumping millions of pounds of his cash into Chelsea each season?
What's to stop Chelsea announcing that they have just signed a £200m a year shirt sponsorship deal with Gazprom?
Restriction on the numbers of players / overseas players you can buy / field in a match there are only so many miltimillion pound players out there, if he can't buy them all then what else is there to spend the money on? it s pretty much just players and their wages, limit that and you limit the expenditure. "This picture of Premier League clubs making fortunes in the gilded bubble of national and worldwide popularity, but failing to control players' wages, making huge losses and relying on owners, poses a major question about whether they can reform in time to meet Uefa's financial fair-play rules. Clubs will be permitted to record losses of only €45m (£39.7m) altogether over the three seasons from 2011-12 to 2013-14, and cannot rely on owners' subsidies, if Uefa is to sanction their participation in European competitions."
So....how are UEFA going to stop Abramovich/Mansour simply subsiding the clubs through "legal" means (like masssive shirt sponsorship deals from companies they control)?
