The PH Gun Cabinet - Shooting Matters

Green pea introducing himself.
I've been wanting to get involved in this thread for a while. However, I am based in the US (but British). My hobby differs from the motherland due to the obvious access we have to firearms in this part of the world.
But, I have just started a build that I thought may be of interest. My father was in the Army from late 60's through till 1979 and his firearm was a L1A1/SLR/Fal. Rather than buy yet another of the usual pistols and AR based platform which I have plenty of, I have decided to build a period and specification correct L1A1.
Parts are a little trickier to source over here for the British 'inch' pattern guns. Once they are all sourced it will be sent out to a renowned builder for assembly. His response to my build was 'just buy a modern replica, it will be far cheaper and quicker'. My response to that is, a great deal of the reward of this project is the thrill of the chase to find the elusive L1A1 parts!
Anyhow, enough blather. Here is a photo of what I have collated so far:

While it’s not something I know anything about, it’s certainly a cool project. I’m looking forward to updates and learning more!!

Excellent project, and for excellent reasons as well. Good luck in your quest for correct bits. There seems to be a fair few US based people with built up 'inch' SLR's over on the FAL section on Milsurps forum in link here.... https://www.milsurps.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116 ....... maybe worth having a search through, if you haven't already. But, I have just started a build that I thought may be of interest. The reason you want a L1A1 is the same reason I wanted a Lee-Enfield No.5

Thank you!
Yes, I have already stumbled across milsurp.com, Falfiles have also been of immense help.
Good luck with the Lee-Enfield. A IV Mk 1 is on my list, a rifle I used whilst in the Cadets. I can't quite believe the allowed us to use those at age 13-14!
I can highly recommend following through on your pursuit of a Lee-Enfield. Even just having this random box of parts is extremely satisfying from a nostalgia/memories viewpoint.

Every time I take it to the range, I can hear my Dad's voice from up above saying "tighter into your shoulder son"

Just putting this out there to see if there is any interest. My local shoot runs sim days in the summer, up to mid August. Its near Colchester in Essex.
12 guns, 6 pegs, one loading one shooting then swapping.
Its great fun and you get fed too.
Its £175 per gun and you would need a couple of slabs of cartridges.
If you fancy doing a PH day, I am happy to arrange it.

Couple of slabs of cartridges? As in 500? That sounds like some great fun!!!12 guns, 6 pegs, one loading one shooting then swapping.

Yeah, 500 cartridges. its best to use something light, 21/24 gram as thats a lot of banging. It is a great laugh, what makes it more fun is its encouraged to shoot your neighbours birds. Then they start shooting yours.
I realise its not going to be easy to get 10-12 guns together on an internet forum, but the offer is there.

Too far for me, but great idea.

Is there a restriction on guns, as that would really help my loading drills for practical
Do you mean on how many you bring?
No, you can bring what ever you want as long as its a shotgun. I have seen people doing it with a semi (ooer), but then you lose the ability for your stuffer to reload you quickly.

Wonder if I could use this:
I have a 20 cartridge magazine for it
