But what a ride! As has been said the overhead coverage showed again why he's a legend!!

Unfortunately, I'm mates with a Deej...

Think he’s got it in him to switch attention to the green jersey?
No. Green jersey requires far more support than he can get.
We’ll find out pretty quickly, intermediate sprint is in the first 30k’s

Harsh. But fair smile
Except, I believe Sir raised it first in WhatsApp yesterday smile

The plyometric thing is interesting. I’m a/was a (lapsed) swimmer and used to be a very quick walker. Now I’m back in the water doing some proper swimming and putting KMs of roadwork down, the huge, massive thing I have noticed the wrong side of 45, is the complete absence of any explosive, acceleration ability. It simply isn’t there. I can work upto a speed and once there I can maintain it - actually better than I used to be able! The only bike I do is on the Peloton and I’m also aware that I have little explosive speed ability. I can generate power yes and put some huge torque down, but accelerating to a high end speed - no.

Tom Brady was a huge advocate of plyometric and resistance training in the last decade of his career. After he turned 40, he said the only physical training he did was stretching, resistance and short form plyo work to extend his physical ability at a high level.

In the interests of fairness, you are correct - you weren't the first to spoil it for me!

Plyo is so important as we age. Resistance bands are superb for it too.

The head on shot for the finish is a waste of time, I’d rather have the helicopter shot

Agree, pointless coverage. When live it has to be the overhead for a sprint finish.

Don’t know what happened to CAV today. Seemed to be in the running and just disappeared / faded away.

He was in a decent position, but not for that right hander. For that he needed to be up and on the right.

Being on the left, the gap opened as it always does on a corner and he did well to make up what ground he did.

Crazy Tour stage today on the gravel tracks around Troyes, well worth a watch.

I was on the last sector, by the penultimate corner. It was truly epic watching them round the corner at full pelt. The road surface had a hard base but the surface was incredibly loose. I’m amazed no one came a cropper.

Cracking pics, Wobert! The second gravel section, where the entire peloton arrived at a narrow climb with only the right cart-wheel track rideable was an amazing sight

Thanks, that finishes four stages for me in my first year attending the Tour.

I was on the Galibier last Tuesday, the TT on Friday and at the finish yesterday in Colombey.

Each stage had its own quirks and that set them apart entirely.

Walking around the team buses was awesome, amazing how close you can get to the riders and most will speak to you. I had a good chat with a number of riders and other cycling personalities… rofl

And on arriving at my hotel this morning, Soudal, UAE and EF were staying there, had a good chat with Marijn Van Den Berg of EF.

He said he was looking forward to the gravel but was feeling very tired after a hard first week. He came home 23rd today!
