Good on the world number 135 wildcard making it to the 4th round, and last Brit left in the draw.

Or she's completely useless and may as well stop playing.

Delete as appropriate depending just how British you are.
Done for the TRUE Brits. It's very British to rip someone apart if they don't win every tournament.

I'm actually torn for England at the moment, it's pretty much the first time they haven't been hyped all the time to be the best/going to win the tournament (ready to tear into them once they lose) so I'm actually a bit behind them because of that, but at the same time they're playing so poorly/boringly that I don't think they deserve to win!

Pretty much the only reason she is getting so much focus was one incredible tournament. Doing what Sun is doing now. So of course every time she has issues which are completely normal she gets slated. It might be she's too injury prone, or doesn't have the focus. But almost no one gets to the top of the game, let alone stays there.

I am glad she did not play with SAM. Else she'd have blamed that match (regardless of outcome) on her loss against Sun.

She should not have accepted SAM's invite IMO. That was the mistake

That was painful to watch.

I give it <24 hours and the wrist / back excuse is out there in the media rather than being gracious in defeat.
BBC Sport headlines with "..out of Wimbledon after being hampered by a back injury.."

If she can’t manage more than three matches without getting injured or being hampered she can’t really be a professional tennis player. Maybe it is her body. Maybe the way she plays makes her more prone to injury. Either case it isn’t looking good for her career. Another Laura Robinson.

Sun looked good but perhaps she was allowed to look good. Next round will tell us a lot.
Laura who?

I think he meant Laura Robson.

Let's see how the qualifier does. Hopefully not out next round...
If she is then someone will be able to use the line "Sun is out at Wimbledon".

Simple things and all that smile
She's going well so far.

Vekic clear lead...

Gutsy performance from Sun initially however but seemed to run out of momentum in the 2nd set.

I spoke too soon. She'd just taken the first set when I posted.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about Sun played the game of her life, they showed some stats in the 2nd set about her shot quality in the first 3 rounds it was 7.1 out of 10, against Raducanu it was 8.9.

She was swinging full bore at everything and it was coming off, not many players could have coped with that accuracy and power.

I did say that Sun made too many unforced errors and very poor first serve %.

Her stats for last game were actually pretty shocking. Only won 5/13 break points. She basically gifted Raducanu the second set.

It's not surprising that she lost the next match.
