I'm not sure what the fuss is about Sun played the game of her life, they showed some stats in the 2nd set about her shot quality in the first 3 rounds it was 7.1 out of 10, against Raducanu it was 8.9. Or she's completely useless and may as well stop playing.

She was swinging full bore at everything and it was coming off, not many players could have coped with that accuracy and power.

She didn't play in the Olympics, which means she's played in one or two tournaments less than the world number one.
Come back with how many training sessions she's done, then I'll take you seriously.

Cincy open is a big event, and only one other event before the US Open is Cleveland.
She can train all she wants, but that is not the same as match practice. 3 matches since Wimbledon would leave her very underprepared.

You could say Ash Barry was a waste of talent retiring so young, but that is what made her happy/worked for her when she made the decision. Emma may well have decided to do enough to stay in the top 100, and get some big pay days occasionally from the slams. That’s totally up to her.
The younger generations are often focusing on a more holistic life than just going all in for a decade or two. And if they’re good enough there’s enough money to fund them for life doing that too.

The constant travel, hotels, being away from family, constant grind of training etc - that would be understandable. All through this thread you just seem determined to prove that she isn’t living up to your expectations, standards or work-ethic.
We get it, you feel let down (although God knows why) but I suspect that nothing she would do, short of bleeding out of her racquet hand on court after beating the world number one in straight sets without losing a game, would satisfy you.
Still can’t believe the nerve of this girl, doing what she wants to do herself.
I’m not sure her continuously playing tournaments etc makes sense. She’s not going to win them, chances are she’ll be knocked out early in most of them. That will begin to take the shine off of things somewhat , with less shine comes less earning potential.
