Care to elaborate what you find so disgusting? You’d be a great politician: throwing shade at others while your own back yards a bloody mess.
Not really the thread for it, but google 'ten ways that Saudi Arabia violates human rights' and that should lead you to the answers you seek.

Whilst I'd agree it's not the thread for it, you brought it up Carlo, you can't expect not to be challenged on it?

Give me a break. SA sure does have its issues but to sit their and point the finger when the UK is a complete an utter laughing stock in every single way of how the government treat their people just shows poorly on you. On every dimension the UK government has given a big fk you to every demographic. Doesn't matter if your old, young, a child, a parent, male, female, white, brown, christian, muslim, atheist, jew etc they have basically managed to single-handedly alienate ever single type of person and abused their rights and what they have sacrificed for this country. Maybe you're the one who should go and get your answers about how the government treats it's people and indirectly treats other people in other countries that has nothing to do with them too!

Is it a human right that a young woman living in a big city should be able to go for a walk at 3am, wearing a Rolex and looking at her expensive phone, in complete safety? Because she can do that in Riyadh or Jeddah, but maybe not in London, Liverpool or Birmingham.

I'm under no illusions about some of the unpleasantness in Saudi society, but concerns about human rights and freedoms aren't confined to KSA.

Chaps. This thread has at the times been the only reason I visit PH still, and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that.

I get the link between SA and the morals behind the events, but it's really a topic for the news section. Can we take that discussion there and get back to enjoying what is currently a bit of a golden age in terms of match making.

Whilst we can't just turn a blind eye to the bigger picture, this thread has been so informative and interesting I think that it's best that the political debate is housed in the right forum.

edit for a small but important typo!

This. Queer man here, Jewish partner. Have many thoughts about Saudi, but I'm keeping them out of this thread because I love the boxing discourse we have and don't want to distract from it.

Pleased for Ball. Ford looks a stylish operator so will be interesting to see how he does moving up a weight. Ball will be a handful for anyone. Enjoyed the Dubois fight and Daniel did much better than I expected. Hrgovic was properly banged up! I think Beterbiev will do Bivol and I'd like to see AJ V Zhang. Does Wilder have the weediest legs in boxing?

I have a horrible feeling Turki is rushing Beterbiev back, and he's going to lose badly. A torn Meniscus is a serious injury a 40 year old might not be able to recover from at all, let alone in 5 months. He will need a minimum of 3 months healing before he can even start a camp, likely more like 6-9 months.

I do hope I'm wrong because that is the best fight in boxing and it deserves both men at their best. Beterbiev has been on borrowed time for a while, but keeps defying father time. Agree with you, I think Beterbiev would have smashed Bivol this weekend if he were fit.

I was shocked at the date being pushed forward. Agree, probably the best fight in the calendar this year now.

I suppose there must be degrees of severity. I can't see Artur going ahead unless he's 100% confident the knee is fixed.

Probably getting paid more than every other fight he's had combined. Hard to pass up

I can see that. I just think that he'll have been involved in the announcement for the new date. Another month or two wouldn't have made any difference to a promoter with a bottomless pit of money. It's not an injury he can carry or hide. I hope it isn't a factor in deciding the outcome.

I always thought he brought a lot of much needed energy and razzamatazz to the heavyweight division.

That's a good read - thanks for posting.

Particularly agree with the mention for Shelly Finkel - incredibly shrewd manager who really helped guide Wilder's career to maximise his career earnings.

Looking likely

A very interesting match up and yet again AJ to his credit never thing the easy option. Dubious did look better in that last fight I genuinely thought that one would have been a shoe in for Hergy. I think AJ will be too much for him though specially on current form.

It's only happening if the IBF is on the line. Usyk has petitioned for the IBF to allow him to keep the belt, so it's on the line for the rematch with Fury. So I guess we wait to see what they do

AJ will run through Dubois like a laxative, the jab that couldn't miss for Joyce and Usyk combined with the right hand that couldn't miss for Hrgovic - he'll get battered quickly. Not that he doesn't pose a danger and it isn't a good fight, just think AJ's too good for him and an awful style matchup for him. The division is pretty weak outside the top 3 at the moment - it's fun and competitive, but unless Usyk, Fury or AJ are having a huge off day (or decline) they beat everyone else quite easily
