Good contest. Have to admire NZ ability to offload and get quick ball. However there’s their usual muckiness in the fringes at the breakdown and de groot is standing up at every single scrum and getting away with it every time. Shame that 2 such scrums led to both tries from NZ.

Well, 5 mins before half time I would have said England were just hanging on, and only a matter of time before NZ floodgates open

But they upped their defensive game and were able to level the match on 42 mins after NZ thought they could throw the ball around a bit.

Hopefully England continue this, keep disrupting and playing forward rugby after half time, though as usual NZ always look likely to break out and score plenty.

AB’s ability to nick balls in the loose I think is the big difference. Not sure how they do it but they make it look so easy.

Also, Ihave to say I'm really enjoying watching the new young England players, forwards and backs, settling in well with the older player and performing.

Can England keep the tempo high through the next 40 mins, hopefully the youngsters fitness and energy keep them in the game!

Agree, so quick and dextrous... allow yourself to get isolated 2 on 1 and you may as well hand the ball over. England in that last part of the half seemed to counter that quite well, but you need numbers, and that will leave gaps to exploit elsewhere.

I'm tempted too, terrible weather today here means all our plans to go to Henley are cancelled so may as well stay in and watch the rugby with many beers!

Not before time. He doesn't need to do that. He's strong enough to stay in.

What's going on with the kicking under a roof?!?

That's two misses per side that you'd usually expect to go over, especially from Marcus as they were more central.

Bugger. Had to go and make a call to a vet for a cat with a cut pad and missed the try. Was it good?
