Good game, enjoyed it Bath really turned up, were more physical and shut down a lot of what put Saints at the top of the table. I thought Saints were generally a bit off, Finn Russell does some strange things in high pressure games. Saints may drop off a bit with those leaving while Bath should be able to build further.

It was a cracking game and a great defensive performance from Glasgow to keep Munster out at times.
Glasgow lucky with their tries in some ways, but a defence like that forces mistakes and you need the skill, pace and experience to capitalise on them.
I'd have found it really difficult to name a player of the match on the Glasgow side they all to a man put in such a good performance (why the heck Edinburgh can't with a similar pool of players I don't know).
The other semi was a great game as well - I didn't appreciate how good the Bulls were and worried for the final down there. Leinster looked tired towards the end, understandably. Scottish ref was poor.
Two close games but great performances from all four teams - it's great to see this much knockout rugby where there is not a clearly dominant side and it is down to the wire and close all the way through the game. Hopefully Glasgow can front up in the final.
I know we’ve debated South African participation in European rugby a lot in this thread … but the URC final being staged in Pretoria is just a step too far in my opinion. It’s a European competition, the final should be in Europe.
I suspect Glasgow will struggle with the conditions (as did Leinster?) but good luck to them anyway.

Great to see Glasgow get through the final - they've played well all year.
The main reason for success in comparison to Edinburgh is Franco Smith who seems to be getting the best out of the players and isn't scared to throw on younger (Scottish) players which is great for the development of the game up here - so there's now some decent depth to the squad.
Agree 100% playing the final in Pretoria is crazy, I didn't realise it was in Cape Town for the previous 2 years too. It certainly means that there will be sparse support for Glasgow next weekend plus the potential advantage of the conditions (heat and altitude) playing into the Bulls hands means the odds are stacked against them. If they win they will certainly deserve it.

Is winter in SA and kickoff is 6pm, so there won’t be a problem with heat. 12 degrees if they are lucky Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
