That's a bit of a reach mate. It doesn't say that at all.

It mentions abuse in general and allegations of death threats, but doesn't attribute his retirement to either. It's more the time away from family.

I didn't know until today's articles that he is also a Barrister. I have no idea how people find the time to have what must be close to two full time jobs (refereeing by time you include training, travel, matches, fitness etc)

Barnes is a much better referee than Owens. And far less narcissistic.
