Exactly this ^. I've taken every Friday afternoon off from May - July and play with my 18 year old son as a way for him to get out of the house while doing his A-Levels and now that he's finished it's a great way to spend an afternoon. He's great company and I enjoy helping him improve his game.
What a joy this must be for you both smile

My last round was with my brother, and two of my nephews, it was such a nice round loved it!
It's great until he out drives me hehe. I actually don't mind him doing that. He's got the touch of an elephant round the green at the moment. We are going to get a few rounds in when we go to France later this month and the OH managed to get tickets for the Olympic women's golf for the Friday round so we are all looking forward to that.

Yeah, it'll be more relatable than the men's game although I still love going to the Open.

Think I've definitely married well - we're off to Cyprus on Friday and the wife has insisted I take my golf stuff just in case.

So I've booked Aphrodite Hills for the following Friday smile

Current forecast suggests it will be "only" 29 degrees the day I play, but after trying the place last year I'm willing to sweat a bit to play it again.

Considering we're staying in Protoras I'm a little more concerned about driving across the island in a Yaris if I'm honest hehe

Not too bad then… we were there in August… had a villa on Aphrodite… it was minimum high 30’s every day… proper suck the air out of your lungs heat.

Then the Cypriot navy stored some confiscated munitions next to a power plant… the munitions subsequently exploded and took the power plant out… and that meant no AC in the house cry

Driving there was fine.

No idea why but that does sound like an entirely Cypriot thing to do hehe

I drove across from Ayia Napa last year to play it and found it an almost enjoyable drive - proper roads, great scenery and very little traffic. However that was in a Focus, it's the Yaris I'm worried about hehe

Only issue from the drive last year was trying to find the course once you got onto the estate as it isn't we'll sign posted, fairly confident I can find it this time....

Had a twilight 9 holes last night, my ball striking was all over the place, by the 17th green I had a little moan to my mate about my concentration levels and how after about 8 holes I almost give up and how can I expect to play my best with that level of concentration.

I then preceded to slam dunk a 20 yard 60 degree lob wedge into the hole, I've never seen anything like it, It dropped straight down the flag and rifled into the cup, it's a funny old game.

It is indeed. I had a similar experience on my last round, 60 degree from 30 yards took a chunk out of the side of the hole but stayed out for a tap in par. When I'm struggling to find the centre of the club I'll shorten my swing a bit. I find that usually I'm over swinging which is causing issues.

Just back from my lesson which turned into a fitting - thinking being I'm off on holiday tomorrow so won't be able to work on much, so I had a good of the Titleist 3 iron options - T200 and U505.

Both were big improvements on my P770, much straighter and better feeling. The U505 was an absolute cannon - my 3 iron was going about 210 but that was up near 230 for a decent strike. Couldn't go for it though as there was too much club down there for my eye and the feeling wasn't great.

The T200 was just what I was looking for, about 220 and very easy to keep straight - so I've ordered a 3 iron with the standard HZRDUS Smoke shaft in 6.0, standard length and lie.

Should be here by the time I get back smile

Cheers dude, looking forward to seeing what it can do on the course when I get back. Was really easy to launch off the deck, which is rare for me and utility irons, normally tee only for me.

The guy doing the fitting was at Titleist last week and got fit for the upcoming GT Driver - said he picked up about 5 mph clubhead speed with it due to the improved aerodynamics on the GT3.

Could be sales chat, guess I'll have to have a go when he gets the fitting heads in. No issues with my TS4 currently, but I'm not completely closed to the idea smile

I've heard a few positive rumblings about the GT driver. A few of the Titleist staffers have swapped from TSi to GT (guys who missed the TSi to TSR change)...

Lost my last 16 knock out match last night - literally threw it away!

2 up with 3 to play, poor tee shot on 16 and an even worse recovery shot, back to 1 up.

Long par 3 17th, both hit 5 woods, his was back of the green and mine had gone off the green left side into a swale area. Played a fabulous chip and made the putt to halve the hole.

1 up on the last, worst tee shot of the day. Dreadful. All square.

19th, lovely drive, went for the green (par 5), poor shot, recovered well but then 3 putted.

So annoying as up until the 16th had been very solid! Was a close match, oppo off 5.7 and me off 7.9 so I received 2 shots.

Bugger.
