Great isn't it! Made birdie on the valley par 4 in your pic before the half way hut from 15 years ago.... remember it like it was yesterday

Finch is a really good golfer watched his YT vid around Pinehurst No2 a 79 off the championship tees, I find him very self-deprecating rather than arrogant, seems like a nice guy to me.

That's how I see him, scratching my head a bit re the negative comments, he's a funny guy.

Playing early tomorrow at 6.45am tee off, not done that for a while, motivated though as I'm trying out a couple of clubs with new grips the GP +4 mid size as my replacement 7 and 8 irons came with them, the course has a tricky first tee shot over a 120 yd wide ravine/valley with trees on the other side meaning anything other than a good shot is punished badly.

Blimey, sounds like the kind of 1st that would have me in pieces! Must be great for the local ball scavengers though.

I agree. The three youtuber golfers I watch the most, are Peter Finch, Rick Shiels and Jimmy Bullard, they are all pretty good, have the ability to take the mickey out of themselves and are all very funny at times.

Thankfully it's a short par 4 240 yds dog leg left, you tee off over the 18th green which is 30-40 feet below, there is bridge walk way to the 1st fairway TBH I'm nervous now, I think there might be a breakfast ball on offer!

It's only a 7 iron to the fairway and a pitch in or you play a hero draw and go over the trees to the green cutting the corner, I'll be taking the 7 iron but I can see the potential for drama.

That’s my old home course. It’s a fairly simple hole if you play across the valley then chip on.

It’s possible to run a draw round the corner but there is all sorts of trouble to be found.

The trees on the left are OB unless you get very lucky.

The first 3 holes can be good birdie chances or can ruin you card. I’ve had eagle putts on them in the same round. But also some big numbers.

Great stuff. Looking forward to being there on the last day. Hope the wind blows but the rain stays away… hehe

Ah I see, I played there years ago but can't remember much, my thoughts on the 1st it's either going to be a breeze or one you'll want to forget for the rest of the round, I won't be attempting any draws around that corner a solid 7 iron will do, bit like the 2nd at Baildon duff the tee shot and you're in trouble down in the old quarry.

2 day scratch comp over the weekend, day 1 today.

77 gross (+5), played well apart from 1 x triple and 1 X double on the front 9. We had the worst of the weather this morning too, 15c rain and pretty windy at times.

Leader in the gross comp is -3 gross (69). Looks like I'll be in the final group..

He's a great golfer, but yeah, massive ego unwatchable for me nowadays.

I like Pete, Rick, Andy Carter occasionally, DOD a lot due to his balls out play.

Andy Carter's Open qualy vid is good, talks through his decision making, played well, and just missed out.

Rick's Open qualy vid was good, back nine (8) impressive.

I'll watch Pete next, although I already know his score.

I watched Pete’s last night.

He’s brutally honest about how it affected him… tough watch.

Good work sir - that's a cracking round considering those 2 holes.

I'm just back from the monthly medal where I did something similar - shot 81 with 4 6s - 3 doubles and a bogey on a Par 5. Didn't hit my Driver well at all but my trusty 3 wood filled in for it, except on 15 where I pulled it into the trees and had to reload. Made a par with my second ball though so it was only a 6.

Still, after winning the scramble on Sunday and my Scratch match on Thursday, playing to my handicap in a medal when the course is so punishing has rounded off an excellent week of golf. Now to relax with a Chinese and the PGA Tour on Sky.

Great work, sounds like a good week!
I've hit personal record 9 holes scores in the last week, sadly in different rounds... Piece it together and it'll be good.

In the 2nd to last group now, which suits me better (preferential mix of people in the group tbf)

Even with the rain over the last 24/48 hours, the ball is still getting out there. I've hit 4 drives over 320 in the last 2 rounds which certainly makes the game a little easier. hehe

Love it. You guys play a different game to me. !

I had a comp today of the whites - was 13 over after 12 ( which is about right for me) only to then lose 14 more shots on the final 6 holes !!

Despite that, I’m not sure it’s ever felt closer….off out again tomorrow morning at 07:24
