We could have afforded to lose to the Aussies if we win our other games but the Scotland NR has completely screwed that

PS, I will be happy to support Ireland or Scotland if England go out

If Scotland beat Aus we are buggered as Aus are unlikely to lose their other game. If Scotland lose they need to lose big and we need to comprehensively beat Oman and Namibia, if we lose either of those games we are buggered. If any of our games are called off due to the weather we are buggered, if Scot v Aus is called off we are buggered.

Not looking very good at all really is it
No it isn’t. However wink I remain optimistic at this point because Australia will beat Scotland. By how much, that I don’t know but they will lose. If the Aussies take their foot off the gas I will be livid to put it mildly. We will win the next 2 games, weather permitting, and the only issue is how comprehensively. I honestly don’t see us not stuffing Oman and by a large margin. That is key. It will then allow us to go into the final game against Namibia knowing exactly what we need to do. That’s my take and we will know after the Oman game as to whether we stand a chance or not.

Doing better than they did last time against the Dutch. They were 12-4 at the same point then, but still recovered to win.

These wickets are making it tricky for batters.

Yeah really tricky.

Usually I'd say Bangla would walk this chase but it might get tricky. Has to be a fast start from them and then hit cruise. Easier said than done though.

Another low score defended. This T20 tournament will have many more twists and turns

After the bloody Aussies thrashed Namibia, I see Josh Hazelwood admitted indirectly that he'd like to see England get knocked out - which in effect means a gameplan to go easy against the Scots (but qualified it with that it wasn't up to him!).

Well, who never saw this coming?

Yeah just watched that and it made me feel a bit sick. Now Hazelwood musing over it doesn't mean they'd do it but the fact the journalist asked and the fact he's even thought about it feels so wrong

Bloody Aussies. It also doesnt help that the NRR is reset after the group stages so there is no incentive for Aus to do anything about either theirs or Scotalnds, beyond sitting back to help knock us out

They have the advantage of Aus-v-Sco being the final group match, so they'll know exactly what they need to do to get any result at that point, and they're already through so no real risk to them anyway if they want to make it a close game. All we can do is try to win our two games by as big a margin as possible so we are at least in the mix.

Rain forecast all day tomorrow in Antigua, stopping around 6-7pm. Our game is scheduled for 3pm so could be another wash-out. frown

That would be a damp squib if we lost out from two washed out matches.

Accuweather is a little more positive, forecasting possible thunderstorm in the morning 10-11am, then mostly sunny in the afternoon.

Argh, you can't make it up. Hopefully it's just an odd light rain shower and we get the full game. Otherwise we're screwed.

Will need some skills with a wet ball too.

The forecast for Antigua always looks like that! It’s called “tropical weather”…
