Tour Championship this week.

First semi today. Second tomorrow. Final on Sunday.

O'Sullivan in the first semi against Wilson.

Can someone tell John Parrott that there is no such word as 'nothink'?

I went to bed before the snooker finished.

Does this mean that the two fat, bald men won?

I am unaware of the reasons behind people not liking Higgins - for me I'm always a fan of the 'old timers' in sports (especially snooker and darts) so I was very much hoping he'd win. I've not managed to watch much of the this year's tournament so far, but I was able to catch the final frames of this one, and very glad I saw it. Genuinely exciting stuff.
This is one of the reasons.

John Virgos commentary annoys me more each day. Stop bloody shouting. In fact just stop talking full stop and let the others do the speaking. Irritating man.
John Parrott has had his day too.

Get some fresh blood in there, but not Higgins, Murphy or Neil Robertson.

Exactly that.

As I said earlier in the thread, he should have received the same sanction as his manager Pat Mooney i.e. a lifetime ban from snooker.
bks, It's not a fking disgrace, and no he shouldn't.

They both got set-up, and he didn't know even about the meeting etc in advance. He got the fine and 6 month ban for his part in the whole thing, but didn't actually fix/throw a match. Mooney could have taken him down with him, but thankfully didn't.

But obviosly the armchair experts know better than the authorities.
This is just a wild guess, but are you from Scotland?

I found the whole series to be boring. All the people I wanted to watch were knocked out - or weren't in it! O'Sullivan, Robertson, Trump and so on.

I watched with the sound off a lot of the time. Parrott, Murphy and Virgo I find tiresome.

I went to bed before the final frame.

Sorry to be Mr Grumpy, but I have just watched some of it and it's just like watching a couple of blokes down the local snooker hall - missing pots, complete mis-judgement of shots. Very little actual talent on display.

Shame O'Sullivan isn't there. It does make such a difference.

Everybody else seems so pedestrian by comparison.

Why do I find the MC Rob Baxter(?) so un loveable. (I struggled to think of the right word)

Why can't I warm to him? Is it that he just tries too hard, all that running around and stuff?

Rob Walker?

So Judd made his 1000th century, fair play to him, a great achievement. Why oh why though do the commentators keep banging on about it, it's not like he's the first to do it, Ronnie in 2019 I think and Higgins earlier this week.
Rob Walker.

That's how much impression the bloke has made on me. I can't even remember his name.

According to wiki:-

On 4 December 2014, the Crown Prosecution Service investigated 25 cases where Mahmood gave evidence.[56] On 29 September 2015, it announced that Mahmood and his former driver Alan Smith had been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. The offences concern evidence given in the trial of R&B singer-songwriter Tulisa Contostavlos. The pair appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court.[57] on 20 November 2015.[58] Following a trial at the Old Bailey, Mahmood and Smith were found guilty of conspiring and intending to pervert the course of justice.[59] On 21 October 2016, Mahmoud was sentenced to 15 months and Smith received a suspended sentence of 12 months.

What is it about?

Is it that he doesn't want to do the British tournaments, but can't refuse for fear of falling foul of the authorities, so lets his name go forward, then pulls out on medical grounds?

What did you expect?! hehe

They're 2 of the most boring players on the circuit for me.
This is one of the problems with snooker. And why people like to watch O'Sullivan.

Most of the others, I would rather turn the telly off.

We mostly record the snooker. We can then fast forward through the ads and the Selby matches.

Do the authorities ever give any thought to how much damage Selby is doing to the popularity of snooker?

And another thing.

The commentator said at the end of a 38 minute Selby frame - "the lead is 9-3". It isn't - the score is 9-3, the lead is 6 frames. Can someone tell them please?
