But…

France were good for that win and, notwithstanding this loss, I think there’s a lot for England to take away from the tournament- we’ve more reason for optimism than we’ve had for ages.

But as an overall effort, I think we've done very well. Considering how we were last year, they have come along way and the team will surely build on the experience for the next WC.

Great game, unlucky to lose that in the end from a couple of mistakes and luck of the bounce. That’s rugby.

France finishing second flatters their performances, they only really turned up for one match. The table doesn’t lie, Ireland out ahead on their own, fag packet between Fra, Sco and Eng.

First 6N for England in the late 4 years that hasn’t been a massive disappointment. Going in the right direction at last.

Yup. Compare that game to our last game against France. Night and day difference.
