I think that’s the best I’ve seen her play.

I must admit, when seeing who she drawn against in R2, I thought she'd struggle.

Got home earlier to see she was being interviewed on court after the game, which was encouraging. Then I saw the score!

6-1 6-2 against Mertens is deeply impressive.

Impressive indeed, tho Martens recent track record has been somewhat erratic. The same can be said of her next opponent. Not sure how seeding is determined..
Anyhow, I think ER is on form and will win on Friday

Not sure about that, she did win a Grand Slam after all, but certaintly looking very good yesterday and like someone who can go further this tournament.

I only saw a few games but she was playing with "intent". Like she was meant to be there rather than just being there cos of her grand slam win and celebrity.

Well done.

She's looking on top form, (along with Coco) full of confidence and playing the ball inch perfect, fingers crossed she'll go all the way at Wimbledon this year smile

Heaven forbid

She must be locked on a practice court 24/7 to satisfy some of the 'experts' on this thread who so skilfully judge from their armchairs.

Does the player’s box / team / squad really irritate anyone else? Not just with Emma but in general too. The constant looking up at the box, fist pumping every single shot, looking at your team and so on is mega annoying. Also the goons in the box leaning out and doing the same back - I assume the bloke in her box is the coach Nick Cavaday. Just calm down you nobber. No other sport is this bad for it I don’t think

Yes, agreed. The TV coverage spends too much time looking at people in the crowd in general, and that doesn’t just apply to tennis. If I go to an event it’s to watch the event, not the people there.
Meanwhile ER making another decent fist of this.

I hate in the doubles where they fist bump each other every point!

Even if they lose the point. It’s fking annoying.
