I just can't play with anything on my arms, the one (very loose fitting) hoodie I have spent the night in the washing machine so I was in trousers and a T-shirt for my game yesterday. I've got a bit of a reputation at my club...

Polo or T shirt in the middle of winter?

Yeah just a FJ/other brand golf polo on the top, adidas trousers - regardless of weather (can't even have shorts in winter as the bugs bite my legs to death)

I played this weekend in c4/5c. I must run hot because I just wore a polo, thick jumper and toggled between wearing a Patagonia gilet when walking and off when playing. Quite a few holes walked with it off.

What is the golf lined jumper, sounds like I need one. ?
Brand snobs look away, it's a Slazenger one, but I can't see them online anymore.

I'll have a look for something similar.

Ping do some lovely lined jumpers. I have this one in grey:

To be honest, I get a bit too hot in it so it's reserved for VERY cold weather!

What makes it so hard? I googled it and it's not short, but surely not long for a low handicapper, and the bunker side green doesn't look too mean.

Is it a lot more uphill than it looks?
You're right, it's not really that hard but I've definitely had easier starting holes.

Plays around 450 with the slope to the middle, you can miss as far right as you want cause of the 18th fairway, but I've just gone left each time which is OOB which isn't even usually my miss hehe

Sure I'll master it nextime...

That Ping looks very nice, and I agree that they tend to be too hot if anything!

This is similar to my Slazenger one, seems like more brands are doing golf clothing nowadays.

I know hoodies aren't to everyone's taste on here - but this is the one I had on Sunday. It's a sort of breathable fleece so gets a bit warm in summer - perfect for current conditions though.

I still have no idea why Lee Sharpe has a golfwear range, but the hoody is pretty warm smile

Hoodies are very popular for golf now, however I have never owned a hoodie, so they're just not on my radar.

I thought they'd feel funny when swinging, but clearly not!

Absolutely appalling, shouldn't be allowed on the course, and a crime against fashion.

CK might be getting back into golf, they went away for a bit, haven't been able to check out their current quality level but used to be extremely good threads.

It's pretty much all I wear off the course as well and have done for about 20 years now, so they feel quite natural to me. I always used to pop to the range wearing one, so when they started doing golf hoodies I was all in - think I've got about 4 or 5 of them now. Only time the hood gets distracting is with one in particular that has quite a big hood, which can get caught by the odd gust of wind.

I find the toggles round the hood quite useful for ball positioning as well, so you could call them a training aid wink

OK Rupert calm down wink

I do have a Calvin Klein hoody also - very comfortable, bit thin though so better for summer use - when it goes really well with my joggers and Hooters hat.

Not a fan of hoodies for golf myself. My parents bought me one a couple of years ago for Christmas (Stromberg funnily enough).

Not really bothered about the look of them, but when you're trying to hit a shot, or a putt, and the wind is blowing I find the hood dangling and blowing around very distracting. Form over function IMO, not sure why you'd choose one over a decent wooly hat!

If your Stromberg hoody is a dark blue one with the logo on the sleeve I suspect it's the same one I mentioned earlier - hood is too big and lack of toggles means you can't secure it when the wind blows.

You started the year on 16 and, by the end, were on 11.5 and had carded a 74.

That is bloody fantastic! Great effort.

I still haven't broken 80 (and I'm off 12).
For some context on the above, it's off winter mats, so whilst our course isn't overly long, 15-20 yards & being able to pick & place anywhere has it's advantages!!
Began our shotgun start winter league with an eagle yesterday, driving the green & sinking a putt from about 10 foot.
Sank a 25ft putt on the next to save par, then missed a 6 inch tap in par on the next hole. rofl

Looking for some unbiased reviews on putters?

I've had:
SC special select Newport 2 - sold it as i couldn't get on with the blade.
SC Phantom X12 - liked this, but putting was still bang average, so it's on the shelf at home, it's also only really any use on the green or tightly cut fringes. After much coaching it's evident i'm a poor putter overall based on numbers & my coach currently has me in a Taylormade TP Hydroblast putter with thumb grip to sort me out.
The new grip & setup has taken some time to get used to & my putting is vastly improving, but i just don't like the feel off the face of the TM TP & miss my Scotty.
However, i've heard Evnroll are equivalent, does anyone have any experience of an Evnroll ER2 vs say a Scotty Cameron Squareback?

I seem to suit the thicker blade style & you're still able to use them if you're in the fringe or just off the edge of the green, so it gives more options for shots rather than a mallet style.
