Managed a PB at Ashton Court last week, I was rather pleased.

Little lad will be presented with his 10 club t-shirt tomorrow - we told him he might have to wait a while but it has arrived super quick. Haven't told him yet - will have to see if the excitement drives him on to run faster.

There was a backlog of shirts - parkrun has grown so quickly that they couldn't keep up but there's been a shipment recently of 10 and 50 shirts so there are plenty in stock now.

We try to present shirts just before the run so that people, particularly kids, get to come forward and get a clap, one of those nice moments to see a kids grinning because they've achieved something!

Don't encourage him too much, it might not be long before you can't keep up with him!

Anyone do the Clumber Park run?

I am tempted to give it a go, I didn't used to be a bad runner 15 years ago at school etc.. I am a bit embarrassed that I may have the 'look' (not overweight atleast) but will be struggling halfway around! Not done anything particularly athletic for atleast 5 years..

fk me, that was slippery. It rained all night and our start is on a sports field, one bloke fell over in the middle of the pack before he'd crossed the start line, I nearly came a cropper several times. I think I need to get some grippier trail shoes, on the final straight a friend of mine came past me with no problems while i was sliding on every step.

Doing a different one next week which should be a bit drier biggrinhttps://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=2...

Slowest runner this week took 50 mins, so you probably won't be shown up too badly, also it's 2 laps, you can always try 1 lap the first week and see how you get on.

(I haven't run it, just getting info from the website)

No one's logged on the parkrun PH wiki that they've run there so you might be the fastest PHer at Clumber!

Just give it a go, it's free after all and free parking (read details on webpage) so you can't go wrong!

Interesting park run this morning.

I had been awake for 26hrs after a nightshift and had ran a hilly 13 miles yesterday. As i stood waiting to start i felt so tired however i had decided not to try this morning and just plod round with the woman.

Well plod i did and finished in 24.19, which to be honest is a time that 6 months ago i would have been really happy with on the course. I was happy with it this morning after zero sleep and 13 miles already in the legs, it was also oddly satisfying because i did it in a full on mexican wrestler costume complete with face mask that meat i couldn't breath or see where i was actually running!

The run also took my weekly mileage ran to 43.3 which is 11 miles more in a week than i have ever done in my life.

The bah humbug does hit me a bit though because if i had slept and tried hard i am pretty certain I could have won the park run today for the first time as the general times were slow. My time got me 9th out of 84.

Well I've just signed up, will try and do the Pennington Flash one next Saturday, as will be up at my father in laws and he only lives about 1/2 mile away. Otherwise Leamington is my nearest. Only started running again in April, so hopefully this will give me some motivation each week! Looking at my Runkeeper logs, I reckon 28 mins is about my average over this distance. Not exactly quick but a lot better than I would have done it a year ago!

Good going ED. New PB of 19:19 for me this morning - surprising considering the bottle of port that was consumed last night!!!

ISTR someone here runs the Conkers parkrun, Mrs645 & I are going to do it Saturday and wondered if we needed trail shoes or if it's fine in normal trainers? Anyone?

Roger - I run Conkers. You don't need trail shoes. All the paths are hard and compact. There are one or two muddier sections but nothing too bad. Conkers is a great little run - very friendly with a good crowd. Watch out for 'Cheeky Hill' just after the first mile!!

Anyone doing any of the Christmas day parkruns scheduled for tomorrow? Will be over at Brueton Park in Solihull. Not sure I'll be busting out any PBs but seeing as I always normally run on Christmas day, it'd be rude not to.

Good to see you out there today, Blair. Wasn't expecting the muddy grass detours out on the course!
