Need a pair of Toyos (preferrably) for the rear of the Chimp - 245/35 18s - and have been getting some horror quotes. Anyone worth a try before I resort to mail order?

I don't know where you are in Northants but I use either Wellingborough Tyres or Tomkins Tyres in Raunds - both small outfits but really know their stuff. Tomkins doesn't stock Toyo but can probably order them.

I have been using JAB tyres in Daventry more recently.

I used them as fitters when I ordered some tyres from mytyres as they had good reviews.

A few months later I contacted them directly when I had a puncture and was surprised they had a tyre for my car in stock and it was cheaper than mytyres.

You could try Tyres Northampton - http://www.tyresnorthampton.com/

Found them to be very good when I needed new rears for my Cayman. They also do a lot of work for the Evo Magazine fleet.

rsv gone!

I recently used tyreshopper - mail order but arrange the fitting, too. Four 235 F1As for £462

I thought they were pretty reasonable. They matched the best quotes I got online at the time.

^This chap done my last tyres (Toyos) on the MX5, mobile unit; took an hour whilst I was sitting on my bum watching TV, and cheap smile

couldn't beat camskill even taking into account the added fitting and balancing cost locally.

I'm a personal friend of Barry Scott who owns Scotts Tyres in Kingsthorpe. PM me the speed rating you want, and I'll get you a quote. I'm fairly sure he stocks Toyo.

Must be good there at Scott's, it's always very busy; too busy, had to go elsewhere last year

Usually story - good, cheap, quick - pick any two.

Never had an issue with their pricing personally.

Not really... just measured them immediately after the original post and realised they weren't *quite* at the legal limit. Have Scots blood y'know wink
