Morning All,
Last night whilst rebuilding the race car for this season I (re)discovered a tiny hole in our aluminium fuel tank frown The hole originates from a crash last season and has already been JB welded... unfortunately I've now discovered that methanol dissolves JB Weld!

I'm looking for someone silverstone way who might be willing to fill it with Argon, patch it and pressure test it. At this stage I don't think I have the time (and probably not the money) for a new fuel tank as it's custom made...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Go and see Mick Tee @ Precision welding (Nr Sixfields) he'll sort it for you.

Thanks, I just tried Mick, unfortunately as it's a nice day he's in his garden but I'll endeavour to speak to him tomorrow! Hopefully he'll take the job!

Thanks again for a prompt and helpful reply!

There's another chap called Andy Cotton @ AJ Fab's he's at Brixworth, maybe too far. (Does a lot of Merc fabrication work and is probably the best welder I know).

There used to be another guy @ Towcester called Nigel Racket (next to the Harley dealer) He too is very good, doing a lot of aircraft welding.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks for all the help. Mick took the job and I picked up the tank today. Nice chap and great welding skills! I would definitely recommend Precision Welding in Northampton. A couple of pic's to finish off!

Thanks again... now back to getting this car ready!
