Hi guys short notice i know but i`m heading up to Santa pod on the 5th with my son can anyone recommend a half tidy place to stay maybe prefer a nice not rowdy inn or B&B where i can park up and have a drink, and possibly get out for a curry although i dont mind a premier inn or something as long as its within walking distance to a decent pub or curry house it dont have to be to close to Santa pod as i can drive back after and park up for the night

Most towns in Northamptonshire have loads of curry houses but the more they increase the lower the average of food quality

If you want a proper Indian, where Indian people go to eat high quality Indian food then if your in Wellingborough I'd recommend the Pooja

It's not on the main street and is not a place for lager & vindaloo warriors

It is only just off town centre, not over difficult to find if your looking for it, it is vegetarian but don't be put off even if you like meat dishes

It's tidy but not glamerous

The resturant is upstairs from the catering bit

I'd also recommended that you don't order anything that you normally see on other menus as you'll miss the the many different flavours in just one dish in something you've never heard of

a review, not mine - 'This is not standard Indian fare aimed at Western tastes, it is wonderfully flavoured, authentic vegetarian dishes, and mostly you will find the restaurant filled with Indian families enjoying a night out so it can sometimes be a bit noisy. I would encourage anyone to try this restautant whether you are vegetarian or not, the dhosas are amazing.'

I've no idea about where to stay but for Wellingborough I'd also recommend the Coach & Horses - http://northantscamra.referata.com/wiki/Coach_%26_...

or for a really queit drink in a beautiful building (don't missed the low room or balcony room) and good ale there's Ye Golden Lion - http://northantscamra.referata.com/wiki/Ye_Golden_... all three places are within walking distance of each other

ETA:the Hind Hotel http://www.hotellink.co.uk/hotels/hind_hotel-welli... is center point to three above, has car parking, again lovely building, I've no idea what the rooms or beer is like (beer is supposed to be OK but it's Greene King so we don't rush to it around here)

Personally - I'd stay in the Premier Inn at W'borough and walk up to either Pooja (Alma St) or Ali's (Cambridge St)
Saffron (Cambridge St) does a great curry smile
