Has anyone else spotted the mysterious silver '60' plate Volvo estates that have appeared over the last couple of weeks? I've seen a couple of them on the A43 / A45, two in convoy at one time. They have blacked out rear windows, side to side roofbars with a clear lightbar attached, and clear led lights on the front grilles.

I would expect them to be unmarked Police cars, but they don't have Norpol plates, and only have a driver and no passenger.. I'm sure at least one of them has euro/GB flag numberplates fitted!

My partner has seen one of these cars on several occasions very recently - between Wellingborough and Northampton. He's certain that the one he saw was an unmarked car. Same description, but he's only seen the one.

I don't think unmarked cars need a passenger (so I noticed when they stopped with me for a chat).

Saw one coming out of Moulton Fire Station this morning, perhaps they are the replacement for those red Scuds they were driving around in. I've seen them quite a few times this week, always single occupant and not police uniform.
Why would an unmarked police car have a light bar on the roof? bit of a giveaway isn't it?

They are the new fire brigade fleet. My Dad has just got one.

Ah, I just saw one today at Riverside McDonalds, and noticed the Fire Brigade logo on the drivers' right upper arm.

Ask your old man if he enjoyed his burger biggrin

Travelling thru Northants came across an unmarked police estate car on a 09 plate. Dark in colour had pulled over a van on A43. Think it was a BMW but unsure as dark/wet. Keep em peeled. Kevin

I have a local fire officer who lives darn our road.

He has a Silver V50 matching the description.
Used to have a Skoda in rouge.
