Hi all, does anyone know where I can go pigeon, rabbit etc shooting. It seemes very hard to find any land to shoot on up here. I have held a shotgun license for twenty years and I'm fully insured. If you know any farmers land owners please get in touch. Kind regards Robert

Talking of shooting, I seen a sign clay shoot on the 26th I think. It's on the farm inbetween Desborough and Harborough on the A6. It maybe of interest to some.

Gary stick to fixing ladies bikes at the top of Rocky hill!
Shout if you're going! Might get a group together.

Half way up Rockingham hill gate on left (locked) down that track a couple of miles.
Cottingham low road from Rocky left hand woods.
Mainly.
Lamport on a Family farm.

My Step Father has Lamport Manor Farm and a farm out of Haselbech on the Naseby Road.
The lease is available so he tells me for the rights on the Haselbech Farm, so trying to get a group together, hard work so I understand it?

Very hard work!!!
Let me know if anything happens though- my cousin is a qualified gamekeeper and would help out I'm sure.
My uncle used to manage the rockingham farm estate, hence over there a lot.
Currently shooting gretton!!

The shoot I beat on is just down from Harrington airfield. You head towards Lamport and go passed the big wood and take the left up the green lane where the keepers bungalow is. The main drives are around Old, Scaldwell and Lamport, oh and some more pheasant drives down near the Brampton Valley Way and the fields near the speed camera on the A508.

Regarding getting a shoot together / small syndicate I can imagine it would be fairly hard work. I do think though that a small shoot would definately be more rewarding. Shooting smaller numbers over fewer days is far more appealing (to me anyway) than, like the shoot I beat on, where 150+ days are not uncommon. It would also be about the people. If everyone got along and all chipped in and there was good banter I'm sure it'd work. I should imagine you would still have a good time on shoot days even if you haven't big numbers of birds going over you.
