Pair of vans on M1...

I passed these on my way southbound this morning. They were parked on a bridge near Northampton and seemed to be pointed at southbound traffic via windows in the side. They had police markings.

So the question is, are they scameras or ANPR and why are they working in pairs?

therefore 2 scamera vans makes the road twice as safe, no?

Think they only have two ANPR's each, thus for three lanes you need a mate??

Have to say I, as a fully paid up roadie, don't mind the ANPR vans at all! Even better when backed up with a team of persuit vehicles and trailers to the crushers :-)

Havn't you read the papers, they're not targetting speeders anymore. Like MrLoudly says, anyone with Insurance / Mot etc shouldn't worry.

2nd van could have just stopped for a cuppa or some training..!!!
