For Matt , Di and a few others

V Beer Festiaval at the Queen Adelaide, Kingsthorpe village

Starts Thursday 2nd Sept and ends Sun 5th if not before

V because it's in its fifth year and the names of the beers will start with the letter V

30 beers plus ciders and perrys, including;

beers from the UK's most northerly brewery, Valhalla of Unst, Shetland (I'd leave those until at least Fri/Sat as they'll be well travelled

Great Oakley VOT (very old (matured) Tailshaker)

Potbelly Venom - cider!! (and possibly Crazy Daze) combination, yikes
bangheads form a queue

and loads of others I can't remember

Don't rely on Paul updating the FaceAche page tho'

ETA: correct end date

Some I don't want to miss so I'll probably go over Thursday to get them if I can and no doubt Friday will be a taxi run for us and our neighbours

Who knows might even pop in on the Saturday or Sunday and leave the dieting until winter biggrin

29 beers plus what's on in the bar

plus 4 cider and Two Trees Perry (very popular at Delapre)

ones of note tonight;

Vanilla Fudge (Great Oakley) - "hint of vanilla" yeah and then some, but if you like vinilla and dark beers well worth trying

Venom (Potbelly) - Crazy Daze(?) plus green, non-tasting, food colouring and pehaps Paul adding chilli (?) - a bit watery for Crazy Daze(?), perhaps chilli(?) but I liked it

VPA - well it's Vale so I liked it (Scruff Gold must be worth a try too)

VOT (very old Tailshaker) a bit disappionting but worth a try

Dambuster (Summer Vine) - dark mild, worth a try

Photon Cask Lager (Summer Vine) - only if you like lager

NOT ON TONIGHT but worth a try (perhaps)

Gravitas (Vale) hops by the buckets and water yet 4.8% (nah, leave it)

MarVellous Maple Mild (Brentwood) - dark brown mild "with just a hint of maple syrup coming thro' in the finish"

Sounds good Nige, Vanilla beer sounds quite pleasant to me

Guess the Venom really needs a day or two to fully mature, but it sounds similar to that O Pos beer they did for Halloween last year (red food dye added to it then) Not blended with cider then?

All behave responsibly and enjoy now!...

Vanilla Fudge is also quite sweet but if you like vinilla and/or fudge this beer is very accurate

Yes Toni seems to have been lazy with the Venom by just(?) adding green food dye (as per Paddy's Day beers) but if or whatever Paul's added I still like it and hopefully it'll mature, not as thick and sweet as Crazy Daze normally is (perhaps it's not Crazy Daze)

I've got my first eight halves for tonight listed as long as I don't loose the beer list I've it written on smile
