Unmarked Police car - Northampton

Just a heads up - Northants Police are using a burgundy Vauxhall Corsa 1.3CDTi 5 Door LJ53VXN as an unmarked Police car in Northampton.

Not much to be too concerned about, as it probably couldn't catch anything much quicker than a pedal cycle

Its not a patrol car as such more like a spare car for various things, i wouldnt be to concerned! trust me.

Also saw last week a brand new silver Vauxhall Insignia unmarked that had pulled someone, on The Mounts near the cop shop funnily enough, but didn't get its plate.

Watch out for a White unmarked 4x4 believe its a Ford Ranger.

I appreciate this is resurrecting an old thread, but not sure where to put this. I saw a silver BMW 3-series KX11 EWY with 2s & blues blaring today in Northampton (and later saw it again pulling out of the football ground with no flashing lights!). Just thought it might help someone

Im always aware of cars around northants and warwickshire with reg plates that start with KX, endless unmarked cars ranging from 520d's to vauxhall vectras from ford foci to golf r32's with plates starting with kx. Plenty around these days!

I thought KX is a Kettering registered vehicle. It was the start of one of my old cars bought new from a main dealer in Kettering.

KX prefix is issued by DVLA Northampton, who have quite a large catchment area. The numbers are issued to the manufacturer or dealer who register the cars for Norpol. KX prefixes are not reserved for any particular uses or even brands, and are just as random as any other prefix you will see locally, with the exception of KN that was never issued between march and sept of 2008, as the DVLA are devoid of humour.

very good. Im not gonna lie im alot more careful around repbobiles with that reg and two blokes in the front seat. i've had two moments one was following an undercover in leamington thinking the person was up for a bit of a spirited drive, until i realised i was was waiting behind said car after an accident had happened just two weeks earlier, where it had full blues and too's on. Needless to say i backed right off!
