Alloy wheel refurb.
Discussion
Hi,
I have just had my Porsche wheels refurbished via Lepsons who are the best in the business (apparently). It wasn't cheap, but the finish is exceptional and the guy I use comes and collects your wheels, lends you a donor set so you can still drive, then delivers and fits the newly refurbished wheels. I paid £340 all in. The wheels have the tyres removed, are acid dipped and repainted to an incredibly high standard, I'd say better than OEM. Let me know if you are interested and I'll PM you his number.

It's only for an old Golf Cabrio and I'm hoping to get it done fairly cheaply but to a better standard than I could do myself. It just needs tidying up a bit but if the wheels look too good it will let the rest of the car down - LOL!!

Why not have a go yourself then?
Ive done 2 sets on my cars in the past, and its not that hard if you just want to get them tidied up a bit.
Rub them down, primer, spray, laquer... sorted.
These are the ones I did, and Im no expert to say the least!
Sounds like a plan. I might try one and see how I get on - the worse that can happen (apart from breaking my nails - LOL) is that I have to get it done again properly. I was thinking of letting the air out of the tyres to make masking easier. Ive done 2 sets on my cars in the past, and its not that hard if you just want to get them tidied up a bit.

If the ST500 alloys im looking into at the moment as a straight swap falls over then i am going to visit wheel clinic for a refurb and powdercoated in Anthracite.

They are down in St James fairly close to cosworth, ive heard good things about them and it will cost approx £250 for any colour I would like. That is including leaving the car with them though. The site gives you an overview of the process also
