Need a reliable chap to have a look at the wifes old Astra.
It's 1.7Dti. Oil light cam on so crawled it home.
Oil level actually appeared to have gone up rahter than down. Makes a rare old rattling noise from the cambelt area.
Googling it looks likely it is the oil pump pulley. Car is not in use and was due to go the day it went so to speak, (on way back from MOT test), most irksome.

So anybody? Needs to be cheap as it's only a W reg Astra 1.7Dti so not worth a great deal.
(And ideally i'd like to get rid by end of month as tax will be out.

Northampton auctions? Won't get much but will get rid of it easily! Could be the oil pump not working or somehow diesel getting into the oil (perhaps through a leaking seal somewhere). Probably not worth the cost of a mechanic if you are getting rid!

Had lots of interest at £895, so worth a couple of hundred to get it fixed.
