Just going to see if anyone can help me with my 911 starting problem, right the story goes like this.

Last year i went out for a drive and noticed the fuel light on so i drove it home with the idea that i would put fresh feul in her next time i go out,as i was putting her away in the garage (slight upwards slope) she cut out,but restarted again with no problems, then cut out again in garage,so removed the battery leads from battery shut garage door and left it a week.

Nice day again so i thought id go for a drive out put some fresh fuel, connected the battery, jumped in driver seat turned the key only to find out the engine just turned over and over,so brought a new DME relay tryed again and just kepted turning over,so left it for another day, then just before christmas we tryed again only to find battery was dead,so left it again.

Now i want to get her sorted out as it's no good just leaving it in the garage and nice summer weather coming i want to get it sorted.

So does anyone know what the problem could be or would like to pop down to have nosey (ill cover petrol and dinner).

Or have we got a Porsche techie here !!!!

"Sidned" and "air cooled" are both local Porsche owners. Maybe worth mailing them through their profiles?

Hi JG911,

Where are you located? Your profile says Lincolnshire! I may be able to pop round at the weekend and give you a hand if that suits and you are not too far away! I can't guarantee I can fix it, but I'll help you as best as I can. I used to own a 3.2 Carrera a few years ago (and it was white!) so it will be nice to see one again.
If you are local I will PM you my mobile and we can make arrangements.

Would you mind pushing it to a layby, so I can pull over in my Tiv and ask if the AA are on their way? I only ask as I'd be returning the favour a 911 driver did me once hehe

On a more helpful note, roll-over/inertia switch? Immobiliser? Have you checkd for spaks if you can smell fuel... etc

ETA and once you've eliminated spaks, see if it is sparking. Ahem

it can be a guessing game without seeing it in the metal. my dad had a similar problem with his 3.2 carrera, turned out to be the crank sensor.

If its a failed fuel pump it may still make the noise but the pressure may not be anywhere near what it needs to be.

Good luck with it!

Iv got a new crack senor and bracket but not sure how to fit it,the last time i tryed it we could smell petrol and we checked the voltage at the coil and it was well low,iv replaced the DME relay but still no joy.

Many hands make light work so any help is greatfull.
