We seem to have been quite remiss with hooning around this year.

As this could be the last opportunity for a sunny day run out who's up for it.

Meeting near Harborough about 10am for a 1+ hour run through Leics/Rutland/Northants

If a few are interstested I'll run off a route tonight.

We can end up at Sywell about lunchtime to catch up with the TVR club meet.

ETA Subject to weather of course.

Meeting point at Focus car park just off the A6 at Harborough 10.15 - set off 10.30 prompt

Nice try Alan !!
I think i made this suggestion about a dozen times during the course of the year - i have now given up.
Would have loved to have come but have made prior arrangements - good luck
Dave
Even tried the text route.

The hoon is dead, long live the hoon.

Still, I'm off for a driving

Large car park on the airfield side of the Aviator hotel, which is actually at the airfield just outside Sywell

ah, thanks for that, was beginning to think it was a members only secret meet like the classics meet that is/was at pub on wooton roundabout.

It's caught a few out... there have even been some that came to the Aviator and got the 'wrong' middle car park, then left without noticing 20+ Tivs on the other side of the hotel.

The TVR meet is normally pretty well supported; the PH meet on the first Sunday, less so

i dont think alan was thinking of his entertainment - it was just a suggestion.

Trying to organise anything on here always seems to get met with bhy remarks - no wonder the northants section is dying a death - apart from people spotting other cars.
FFS, this is the latest in a string of posts where folk are being criticised for not responding positively to a going for a drive suggestion. It's not like an event mate, there's nothing to 'organise' beyond the starting point and no-one is any the worse off if people are doing other things. I responded to Alan's text; I have no idea whether anyone else did. I feel no obligation to respond to a thread if I'm not interested or available for whatever reason.

For what it's worth I didn't get a text (cos he hasn't got my number)
and I have only just seen this, as don't check every day, so that is why I didn't reply

On another note, I never normally reply to Daves as think as we are a bit further south than his meeting points are so takes us 45 mins to get to start point (actually I don't even know where Thrapston is- somewhere between here and Peterboro hehe)
so would not presume they are aimed at us suvveners, plus we seem to have gone off the runs and like to go out on our own in the car to make a day of it so we spent our 'quality time' together
that's just us though,

if you want me or Matt to reply to say no in future then we can.

Will it make you feel more loved? biggrin

PS, the other reason is we'd never keep up, I have seen how fast Daves little rocket is round a car park, and tivs seem to leave us in the dust

Now, now children. wink

Nothing negative was intended. No obligation was intentionally implied and it was just an idea.

Perhaps remiss was the wrong word.

In any case, I enjoyed the driving. It turned into a lovely afternoon and it was nice to see mycroft, Droptest and a few others.

GTtiJim experienced the Tiv and I got a go of his little red beastie.

Hope to see you all soon.

arrrh,
give it another 10 years Di and you and Matt will be spending quality time apart just like Mrs Beer and I (this and drinking real ale has kept us together for nearly 32 years now)

I know what you mean about keeping up with the Tivs on the straights but Dave always goes at a reasonable pace and stops to regather on hoons
- different matter on a SBDR of course, just let 'im go

There's a bit more than just arranging a starting place to arranging a hoon BUT no one is obligated to attend the hoon or reply to thread

It's just a bit dissapointing IMO that sometimes it appears, to me at least, that you need a (generally recognised) supercar presence for a meeting or hoon to draw people out

I've turned up a couple of times on a sunday and nobody has been there!
I've started looking into the Midlands meets now as that is regularly getting 10+ Ph'ers turn up at every event.

I'm guessing now that the wetter weather and darker days during the winter will mean these meets wont generally happen anyway?
