Anyone else spotted the whole load of new cameras that have gone up today around Weedon? I spotted what looked like a survey van and man putting one up, but didn't get a chance to see what the van said as I noticed it too late. Any ideas what they're for?

I saw them putting new cameras up on Upton way roundabout this morning, looked like traffic survey cameras more than anything, with any luck it'll help in their judgement of the traffic lights

Saw them on the A5 this morning. There are a pair (one either side of the road) just north of the Bugbrooke / Litchborough cross roads and another single device south of the Long Bucky turn. Heading south this evening, I also spotted an identical lense/device attached to the traffic lights at Weedon.

There were a couple of people in high-viz jackets hanging around by the Bugrooke x-roads devices this afternoon - if they're there tomorrow, I'll stop and ask them what it's all about.

I don't know where exactly but I know NCC is doing traffic counts all over the county as part of a road classification exercise to do with street lighting. They will have waited until the kids went back to school to get a proper data set rather than in the holidays.
