Silverstone F1 - Which way in?

Im still currently in Egypt at the moment but were back for all 3 days. Ive never been before but i presume that practise and qualifying the traffic wont be too bad?!
But as for Sunday I know its going to be rammed.
Which way in do local PH'ers go to get into the track?
My mrs bought us the tickets for my 21st and also booked on site parking, after speaking to next door neighbour thats done some work at the track a few times he was suggesting going through the villages, such as greens norton?
Rather than leaving at 6am and sitting on the dual carriage way thw whole way in. We live fairly close to sixfields so we will be coming from that direction
