Why oh why have they decided to stick loads of horrible gravel to what was a nice driving surface? Went to work this morning and noticed the 20mph signs out then this evening there is all was, mile upon mile of paint and windscreen chipping gravel!
No idea why they've done it. banghead

I haven't been to Daventry these past few days but I did see yesterday they have done the same thing on the A428 in the Long Buckby / East Haddon area. It's a special measure to increase the number of motorbike accidents on loose gravel.

They've also done it on the A43 from the Sywell roundabout into Northampton and on the A509 from Wellinborogh on the hill up into Great Harrowden. To make it worse some prize tw*t in a Vauxhall Combi van thought it would be fun to fly up the outside lane on the hill and shower everyone elses cars with loose chippings on Monday afternoon.

I can't believe they've resorted to this pathetic and extremely dangerous form of resurfacing on such busy roads. I hope the council get sued for lots of windscreen damage to make them think twice about doing resurfacing on the cheap in the future. Makes me laugh with incredulous disbelief to think that they bang on about road safety then go and lay down one of the most lethal surfaces possible which wears extremely quickly causing uncovered patches and a resulting loss of wet weather grip.

LOads of this going on in Leicestershire too.

I was out in the Tiv on Sunday and travelling along one of these long 'surface dressed' stretches when about 100 yards from the end of it some idiot in a Merc decided that he could overtake the car behind me and me. I decided he wouldn't and blocked the road and then as soon as the dressed surface ended I went byebyedriving

Can't believe he was about to shower us all in stones for the sake of 100 yards!

Yep i was unfortunate to get caught up in that traffic today. Thought would pop back to parents house to pick up some things i forgot for holiday tomorrow, ended up taking me 90mins to get from Sixfields to Dav yes

Sat there for ages, then though i would drive home that back way and got pulled over by the rozzers (for the 3rd time since having this car) apparently it was routine.
