New Gantrys around Brackmills

There seems to be several gantrys popping up around Brackmills, they look like they are for SPECS/ARPN etc. But nobody at work seems to know

Anybody know what they are for?

Doubt SPECS would be any good there, they tend to stay mainly on main routes to catch average speeds... More than likely some sort of CCTV or ANPR.

ANPR me thinks...although someone has jsut suggested something to do with the Police having some kind of extension to their criminal storage unit!

There's also a big single pole that's gone up on the roundabout. CCTV?

Lots of thefts of and from lorries on that estate. Last weeks Chron said many firms being put off by this. So, most probably CCTV. Let's see if they put some up on the Newport road etc to catch them going in and out.

There are two green poles been erected at the end of the A45 in the central reservation just before the J15 roundabout.

I did wonder whether SPECS cameras will be installed soon but they don't look as high as the ones on the A45 past Weston Favell so I wasn't sure.

i noticed the large pole on the A428 by the brackmills roundabout and presumed they must be extending the specs to the otherside of brayfield as you can get silly speeds going down that hill!!!

i doubt ANPR as it would be a nightmare as you have about 12 local garages all using that road for test drives and i'm sure the cameras couldn't distinguish between a car with no tax and a car on trade plates!

The singlepole on the roundabout is having a dome CCTV camera attached. Not sure of the other "Specs" style gantrys.
