Can anybody recommend a Ford Garage in the area for servicing etc? The dealers we've tried so far haven't been great. We don't mind travelling to find somewhere decent.

I've given up on the Ford garages in this area, for anything other than buying parts - after several very bad experiences.

As the car is out of warranty I now buy genuine Ford parts and have them fitted by a mechanic I trust.

Have used Sndicliffe in Market Harborough for MrsJems Mundie.
They seem ok never had any probs.

HI Steve,

Try Nigel at Automotive Services, Bunting Road, Kingsthorpe I've had very good service from him.

(He's also on the recommended Garage list)

Thanks Mick. We're seriously contemplating getting another brand as the dealers are quite shocking in the area.

Go and see Tim at Allen Ford in Daventry he is chief big spanners over there he is a member on here as well. A good chap to deal with and with no politics he talks straight with honest answers and recommendations.

I don't suppose you know Tim's username do you? Work that another Allen Ford dealership did seems to have gone wrong so I have a couple of queries that I need to check.

I'd vote for them as I work for the owners wife.

That's where we originally bought the car from. They did seem pretty good, but it was just a bit too far to travel for servicing and stuff so we never went back there. I'll bear them in mind next time though. I actually spoke to Tim today so we'll get the car booked in at his place.

I suppose if you're near Daventry then yes we are a little way away in Thrapston!

Reading through the Northants thread yesterday (only joined yesterday) most members seem to be from that side of the county? Funny that.

Thanks for servicing the car in the week Tim. It's quite refreshing taking the car in for a service and for all the work to be done on it!

I'd vote for them as well - always helpful, family firm, and Titty Ho is always worth a visit. Struggle to tell Mark and Sean apart though!!!

Watch Ford garages parts prices. My daughters cheer coach had her 1.25 Fiesta in for a service, they said it needed new pads, discs & a brake fluid change. The PARTS ONLY price they gave her was £330 inc VAT!!!!!!!

I told her to go to Euro Car Parts and buy the parts then on her way home pop in for a cup of tea, the parts cost was £58, and an hour after arriving at our place her brakes were sorted.
