Morning All! I've moved from Coventry to Daventry, so i guess that also means a move from the west mids forum to the Northants one.
Looking forward to a few days of good weather (eventually) and i'll be keeping a keen eye on the meets. We've had a couple new additions to the car family to bring out to play.
Looking forward to meeting you all, although i've met a few of you already.

Fantastic, we're yet to find the best watering holes, not sure how we haven't had a chance to go to the pubs yet.

To be honest, I live out in the sticks, and I've never been out in Daventry! The Royal Oak in Eydon is one of my regular haunts.

Dav can be a touch "lively" like a lot of market towns.

Shahi indian is epic though

Keep an eye out for a little Green Mk1 MX5, that'll be me. Paul (the boyfriend) has a 355, when it's not at the garage being tarted up! He's a bit of a perfectionist when it come to his cars. rolleyes

Hi, wavey

I don't go out Daventry way often for pubs but my wife's friend recommends the White Horse, High St., Welton

and the Althorp Coaching Inn (Fox & Hounds), Main St., Great Brington, NN7 4EW is always worth a look for those new to the area (Althorp locally is pronounced ALL-THORPE)

For generous portions of good value and reasonable food as well as good beer it's Chequers, Chequers Lane, Ravensthorpe, NN6 8ER

For classic car meets and traditional village pub it's Red Lion, Welford Road, Thornby, NN6 8SJ good beer but I'm unsure of the food

There are many more but these spring to mind

You've moved to a lovely area, get youself a good large scale road altas or better still OS map to see all that's around you

As well as PH the local (and national) club I'm in has runs and for those who like to keep their cars shiny static displays see: http://www.freewebs.com/shirebears/

As I said you're in a fabulous area with Northants, Warks., Liecs. and Rutland and all they have to offer all so close to you

ETA: on seeing your PH name again - there's a cider producer out your way and plenty of pubs selling real cider, for producers (bottom of page) and just a few pubs see :- http://www.northantscamra.org.uk/main.php?id=realc...

Sorry it's getting to information overload now

EFA - to get correct village name

Hellooo, wavey I'm still (a)round - hibinated a bit to avoid those that get you as well as themselves stuck in the snow

We got the beer bus stuck in the snow Thursday at the second pick up point, in Hardingstone, (we were supposed to be going to the villages in the very south-west of the county) so it was back to the Malt Shovel where Mrs Beer spilt here beer over the brand new carpet that had only been fitted that day - luckily this was before Mike the owner joined our table for a chat - we never mentioned as she was still upset about the lost beer smile

Oh definitely not, we've only moved 20 minutes away from where we were before! Paul's 355 is pretty tidy and will take you for a barp as soon as his crackle paint is redone on the tappet covers although, keep it quiet, he's actually just got a 250 replica that i prefer! WHOOP
